Competition for Lviv publishers publishing books in Ukrainian
To promote book publishing in Ukrainian and Lviv publishing houses, translators, scholars, and writers Lviv City Council gives financial support to legal or natural persons registered in Lviv if their patent includes publishing activities and they publish books in Ukrainian and to people having contracts with publishing houses registered in Lviv.

Competition for Social and Culture Projects
Each year Lviv City Council announces Competition for Social and Cultural Projects. It is regulated by the Program of NGO financial support. This Competition aims at development of social and cultural infrastructure of the city and supports NGO projects in these spheres.

Project “Development of Tourism and Information Infrastructure in Lviv”
Office for Culture and Tourism and its partners started to implement project “Development of Tourism and Information Infrastructure in Lviv” in the framework of the Neighbourhood Programme Poland – Belarus – Ukraine INTERREG IIIA/TACIS CBC 2004-2006.
Project aims at solving the following problems: absence of visual, printed and digital information identifying objects of tourist interest in the city; improvement of service standards. Project is being realized since 2008. Lviv City Council has signed a contract with the European Commission. In 2009-2010 design and production of signs marking the main tourist routes will take place.
- for people traveling by car ca 100 signs for orientation in the city and 8 big signs indicating main tourist corridors will be put;
- for tourists in the central part of the city guiding signs to the main points of tourist attraction and services will be put in two languages; plaques with street names will be transliterated with Latin letters; number of houses will be arranged orderly;
- 8 walking and 12 cycling recreation routes will be developed and marked.
Other project activities: setting of city tourist information center; trainings of people working in tourism sphere; publishing of multi-language information on objects of tourist attraction in Lviv.
