Structure
Culture Bureau is administering culture institutions in the city: libraries, museums, theatres, municipal culture centres.
The functions of the bureau include:
- Realisation of coordination subordinating founding, preparation of contacts with the main partners, assignment organisational methodological help.
- Active stimulation to use funds of libraries, museums for educational purposes, assistance in inculcating new ways of using cultural heritage.
- Organisation of conditions for development of musical, theatrical, chorographical, figurative art and independent creativity, promote the restoration of the museums’ funds, completing of the libraries.
- Organising of informational activity in culture sphere, participation in organisations and arrangement of methodical and scholar practical seminars, conferences.
- Coordination of collaboration founding and organisation in the cultural sphere.
- Promoting of realisation of local programs founded by budget for development of culture and tourism.
Tourism and Recreation Bureau became part of the Office in 2007. It was created in 2000 and was part of the Economy Department.
The functions of the bureau include:
- Development and implementation of the program, realisation of the actions, development of tourism in Lviv
- Participation in the international cooperation and partnership, which concerns to the development of tourism
- Actualisation of information, promotional and publishing activity
- Organisation and participation in the exhibitions, forums, conferences and seminars of tourism
- Cooperation in increasing the level of quality and expansion of the service choice, creation comfortable conditions for the tourist residence
- Organising analysis and prognosis of the tourism development, evaluation and tendencies of the tourism development in the city, regional and national programs.
Marketing and Culture Industries Bureau is the newest in the Office structure. It is the first Culture Industries Culture Bureau of city council in Ukraine.
The functions of the bureau include:
- Preparation and leading of the central urban actions for organisations
- Coordination of concurs organisation of the social-cultural projects
- Coordination of concurs organisation of financial support for publishing in Ukrainian language in Lviv.
- Writing and participation in the international project grants, which provides additional financial income for cultural institutions of the city and assists for the development of cultural Lviv sphere in general.
- Guarantee rights of citizens to appeal to solve the problem, which does not exceeds bureau’s authority
- Creation of register of cultural enterprises of the city and development of information system for community about the cultural actions which take place in Lviv.
- Assignmentof methodical and practical advice for cultural organisations
- Realisation of the project in the frames of good neighbourhood Poland –Belarus-Ukraine INTERREG III A/TACIS2004-2006
